9 Creature Contest: Longjaw by jagarujimbo 9 Creature Contest: Longjaw by jagarujimbo
Whew! I made it just in time!
My submission for the Creatures of 9 Contest.
Made from just bits and pieces of junk from around the apartment. I knew all that stuff would be good for something, someday.
Good luck to all you other contestants!
You guys make some really awesome art!

...man, now I gotta clean up this big mess I made. Somebody, beer me...

Lol, the teeth look freaky until you realize they are just brushes.
"AAAAAAHHH NOOOOO! Oh, huh, I'm alive. Whew."

Very cool.

yeah, those toothbrush teeth really have an overall menacing vibe, visually. Yet, one may inexplicably find oneself squeaky clean after an attempted mauling by my beast. I suspect that the beast may find this frustrating. :)

Toothbrushes? White out? Who would have thought of that?

That's the main thing I love about this piece. Not only is the construction beautiful, but it's just so out there! Very well done.

Toothbrushes and whiteout... That's just the kind of junk that was available to me. "Love the one you're with, eh" When I saw the whiteout at work, I was like "animal...hindlegs...thighs...you will now come home with me...bwahahahaha!" I'm mostly a sketch artist. I'm actually pretty thrilled that I pulled off someting like this. Now I'm casting an eye towards the rest of the junk, what punctuates my humble abode.
Thanks for the comment. :)

Excellently construced. Everything looks well constructed and doesn't look thrown together. I love the toothbrush teeth. :) I think you've got a good shot at winning.

Thanks! It doesn't quite fit the grungy look of the movie but, I'm still pretty happy about the piece. Those toothbrush jaws came about as a fortunate bit of serendipity.

"Electric-Guitar"?...now that's a no-nonsense handle. What's your axe/s? What do you like to play? Guitar is soooo awesome just by itself, and it also leads one into many great styles of music. :)

I actually made this username because I love rock music and some might put me in the punk category. I don't know how to play electric guitar, but I'd like to learn some day. I can play acoustic to some extent through teaching myself. Definaltey a fan of rock of all genres. Classic, alternative, ect.

Right on, mon-frere! Whether or not you play an instrument is irrelevant when it comes to loving the music! I've never had a lesson myself but, I think I play my rock and blues pretty OK on the guitar. Have it at your own pace. Case in point: Leo Fender. He was a grand icon of the electric guitar (let us respectfully bow our heads for a moment) yet, he could barely play a lick. Rock on, my friend. Personally I like Freddie King, S.R.V., Motown, AC/DC, Garbage, Zeppelin, The Misfits (Michael Graves era) and Motorhead. Just to name a few.
Rock on!~ :)

:)haha, sorry to hear about the parents. Art (good or bad) does make a mess. Fortunately, I don't live with the nagging parents. Unfortunately, I still have a mess of my own making. If I don't clean up, tetanus may find it's way into my tender cityboy feet(I prefer a neurotoxin-free spinal chord and brain stem, thank you.) Rusty coils of bale wire are both a gift and a curse...*sigh*

Crap, indeed! It's pure junk from head to toe. haha. I figure it's about 18 inches tall from the bottom of the front hoof to the top of the crested head, in the current pose. Overall, about the size of a certain, large, emotionally needy housecat who shall go unnamed...Stupid cat, leave me alone for 10 minutes, will ya! It might reach three feet in length if I extended the tail. The whiteout dispenser or corkscrew at the end of the tail may provide a decent gauge for measure.
Thanks for the comment!:)

Thanks! Honestly, if this was a strict drawing contest, I'd be mashed into the ground. DA folks have insane skills! Thankfully, I have a few power tools and a load of junk layin' around.

Yeah, those toothbrush jaws seem kinda "meta." I only realized it, after-the-fact. Thanks for the astute comment. :)

Later, 9am be past myz bedtime.
zzzzzzzzzz...
